500 Rules and Examples, entirely aud thoroughly
dractical, such as arise every day in the common i
pursuits of Business. It has already passed through !
a number of Editions in rapid succession, and is !
pronounced by all classes ot business men to- be
the handiest book of reference, pertaining to calcu
lations, that has ever been published.
Every example in the book is worked out in full
and tated in a plain manner, so that when a par
allle case arises, those referring to the work; will
find no difficulty in readily solving it ; in a word,
the general arrangement of the Calculator is so
simple, that ar.y one who knows how to add, sub
stract, multiply, or divide, can easily solve any or.

the result of any estimate required.
xne enter aim ol the antlior has been to eschew

The calculator ditiers in this respect from ail A- i

" Having inherited 11 Scrofulous infection, I have fmflwvd
from it in various ways for years. Sometimes it Imrst

turned inward and distressed me at the stomach. Two
.years ago it broke out on my head and covered my sculp
end eats with one sore, which was painful and loathsome
beyond description. 1 tried many medicines and several
physicians, but without much relief from any thing, ill
tact, the disorder grew worse. At length I rejoiced
to read in the Gospel Messenger that you lout prepared
an alterative (Harrapnrille), for I knew front your 1. puta
tiou that any thing you made a. .Ist be good. I sent to
Cincinnati and got it, and ttsed it till it cured me. I took
it, as you udvise, in small doses of a toaspooufnl over a
moutii, and used almost three bottles. New and henitbv
1 skin soon began to form under the scab, wbich after a
while fell off. My skin is now clear, anil 1 ktw'w by u.y

proved effectual. After taking your remedy eight weeks
no symptom of the disease remains."
