Evans & Watson
Have had the surest demonstration in the following
; certificate that their manufacture of Salamander
i Safes has at length iully warranted the representa
tions which have been made of thern as rendering
an undoubted security agaiust the terrific element .-
Philadelphia, April 1550.
Messrs. EVANS & WATSON, —Gentlemen,— It affords
u? the highest salisiaction to state to you, that
owing to the very protective qualities of two of the
Salamander Safes which we purchased of you some
few months since, we saved a large portiot of our
jewelry, arid all our books, papers, &.C., EXPOSED to
the calamitous fire in Ranstead Place, on he mor
ning of the 11th instant.
When we reflect that these Safes were located
in the fourth story of the building we occupied, and
that they fell subsequently into a heap or burning
ruins, where the vast concentration of hea cau-eii
the brass plates to melt, we cannot but the
preservation of thetr valuable contents fes most
convincing proof of the great security affoiied by
your Safes.
We shall take much pleasure in recomnending
them to men of business as a sure reliance against
fire.
