DISEASES OF THE LIVER.
tjyWhen the celebrated Pr. Rush declared that
drunkenness was a disease, he enunciated a truth
which the experience ard observation oi meaica.
men ,s every day confirming. The many insane ex

liquors, may be thus accounted tor. Ihe true cause
of conduct, which is taken for infatuation, is very
frequently a diseased state of the Liver. No organ
, B the human system, when deranged, produces a
more frightful catalogue of diseases. Ann u, m

disease, as is mo often the case, physicians would
prescribe with a view to the original cause, fewer
dea-hs would result from diseases induced by a .c
