Philadelphia, April liltb, 1556.
Messrs. EVANS & WATSON, —Gentlemen, — It affords
'us the highest satisfaction to state to you, that
owing tn the very protective qualities oftv.o of the
Salamander Safes which we purchased of you some
few months since, we saved a large portion of otn
jewelry, and all our hooks, papers, ike., exposed tc
the calamitous fire in Kanstead Place, on the mor
ning of the 11th instant.
When we retlect that these Safes were located
in the l'ouith story of the building we occupied, and
that they fell subsequently into a heap of burning
ruins, where the vast concentration of heat caused
the br-v-s plates to melt, we cannot but regard thf
preservation of their valuable contents as most
| convincing proof of the great security afforded by
[ your Safes.
We shall take much pleasure in recommending
them to men of business as a sure reliance against
fire.
