Dr. Hardman treats Consumption, Bronchitis,
Asthma, Laryngit is, and all diseases of the throat
and lungs, by Medicated Inhalations lately used in
the Bromton Hospital, London. The great point in
the treatment of all human maladies, is to get at the
direct manner. All medicines are estimated by
their action upon the organ requiring relief. This
is the important fact upon which Inhalation is bas
ed. Ifthe stomach is diseased we take medicines
directly into the stomach. Ifthe lungs are disea--
ed, breathe or inhale medicated vapors directly into
the lungs. Medicines are the antidotes to disease
and should be applied to the very seal of the disease.
Inhalation is the application of this principle to the
treatment of the lungs, for it gives ns direct access
to those intricate air cells and tubes which lie out of
reach of every other means of administering medi
cines. Inhalation brings the medicine indirect con
tact with the disease, without the disadvantage of
any violent action. Its application is so simple,
that it can be employed by the youngest infant or
feeblest invalid. It does not derange the stomach,
comfort ai businessof the patient.
