HOW IT WAS DISCOVERED !
In the fall of 1851 a daughter ol Mr. I.indsey was 1
suffering from a malignant attack of Cancrutn Oris:
| (Can I .' rof the mouth.) She had previously been
i prostrated by the aitacksoi Dyscntary, Jnflamation :
I .i the lungs and Hectic Fever, successively, which !
resulted in the above named disease in its worst ;
' form. Her condition was most deplorable—her mouth i
1 and cheek were literally rotten—l he attending phy- j
j sician pronoin. Ed the c.i-e a hopeless one. Every- j
i thing indicated a -needy and horrible death—the j
death of rotting out ot life ! At this critical junc-'
tare Mr. J.indsey prepared a compound lor the pur- !
i pose of alleviating, possible, the pains of the little
sufferer. She was rna ie to use it freely, and in a
| short time to his most delightful astonishment, there
was av. iy perceptible chafige for the better. The
I mouth began lo put on a bright and heaithy appeai
i ance—the Foul breath became sweet—the appetite
was restored, and the child seemed to partake of a
new am! re ; h lite.
' Hope was inspired, and the use of the compound :
j was faithfully continued, the result of which, with I
! the blessing of God, was her complete restoration.— j
Kbe ts now perfectly healthy! From this circntn- I
stance, Mr. Liudsey wasted to prepare with greater '
care and exactness, what had so astonishingly cured |
his child, and continued bis experimental efforts un- |
til be succeeded in bringing to perfection his '
