ered the most important pursuit of the pupils; and
while it will be the constant business of Ihe Instruc
tor to impart it will also be his aim to
lead his pupils to make a practical application of
their acquisitions. To load the mind with innumer
able formulas, without causing it to use ibem, would
be like placing a bow in a child's hand, without
teaching him how to bend it. In fine, it shall be onr
object, as it has ever been, to lead the pupil to
