of an exhibition held at Gwynn's Sohool
House on Muddy Cieek. Tha school was
taught tho present term by Mr. Clinton
Cwynn. The performers consisted of the
larger pur.il of the school, assisted by the
gentlemen of the neighborhood. The per
formances oonsistad of Declamations, Dia
logues , Essays and Tableaux, interspersed
with vocal and instrumental music. We
wish to partieulariso a little. . A tableau
entitled, "Tho Children of Isrtol," was very
beautiful, and all presaut eould not help
thinking they wore truly from Isroel. A
couio declamation, spoken by J. R. Daily,
subject "Ainorioan Citii'jns1' wa very
good. An original lecturo on Intemper
ance was well composed and well delivered,
reflecting much croJit on tho Bpcukcr. The
Muddy Creek hand then played a piece of
musio which was really beautiful: 'Before
dismission tho teacher came forward and
delivorcd a short hut eloquent address',
thanking the parent for bearing hi in up in
his effort to instruct their children, and al
