buster loaded with the kinds of trains I enjoy. Big, old, noisy, used
and gritty. Usually, we put our best stuff up front, but this auction
gets better as it goes! The vultures better pack a snack! Lionel,
Ives, and Flyer standard gage trains. Also new Lionel standard
gage trains. Prewar Lionel, Ives & Flyer “O” gage trains. Rare &
obscure clockwork and electric trains from England, Germany &
Bavaria - WWI Vintage, still in boxes! Lots of charming Putz
accessories for your under-tree display.
Blue Room - Private collection of modem ear trains (MPC, LTI,
K-Line, Williams), Toys (Matchbox, Winross, Dinky, Corgi) and
accessories. Mostly very clean, unused, 08. Varied roster.

happen word-of-mouth. He buys
items from one person, who tells
another person who has a similar
item that Shank will buy.
“If it’s valuable. I’m willing to
pay,” Shank said.
Some larger items are rented
occassionally by movie producers
as props. Movie producers also
purchase many of the items.
Although Shank has been into
amassing items for years, it was
only six years ago that he sold his
dairy herd to go into marketing
old stuff as a full-time job.
Recently Shank has been dis
tributing business cards with the
words: “Curious? Three-quarters
of an acre of interesting items.
Worth the trip.”
Cast iron tubs, spindles, knobs,
fences, grates, wooden buckets,
corn bins if you can’t find it at
Shanks, it probably isn’t avail
able.
