1 cup sour cream
6 cups flour
1 tablespoon vanilla
Cream butter with sugar and
eggs; add vanilla. Mix soda with
sour cream. Add flour and salt
alternately with sour cream mix

LEMON DELIGHTS
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 package (3 ounces) cream
cheese, softened
1 egg yolk, (reserve egg white)
3 tablespoons Realemon lemon
juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
'A teaspoon salt
2'A cups flour
2 cups finely chopped nuts
Lemon Cheese Filling:
1 package (3 ounce) cream
cheese
'A cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Mix all ingredients together
until blended and smooth.
For cookies, combine butter,
sugar, cream cheese, egg yolk,
lemon juice, and vanilla with
mixer. Beat until well blended.
Beat in flour and salt. Wrap
dough in plastic wrap. Chill at
least 1 hour. Shape into 1-inch
balls.
With mixer, beat reserved egg
white lightly. Dip balls in egg
white; roll in nuts. Place 2 inches
apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Press thumb deep into center of
each cookie. Fill with lemon
cheese filling.
Bake in preheated 375 degrees
oven for 10 minutes or until fill
Open Christmas Eve 9 to 5:30, Closed Christmas Day

CRANBERRY COOKIES
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

VA cups chopped nuts
In a medium mixing bowl, beat
shortening and sugar together
until light and fluffy. Add vanilla
and egg; mix well. Combine flour,
baking power, and salt. Add to
shortening mixture, mixing until
soft dough forms. Stir in cranber
ries.
Immediately drop by rounded
teaspoonfulls onto greased cookie
sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10
minutes or until golden brown.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack;
cool completely.
Dip half of each cookie into
melted chocolate and then in
nuts. Allow chocolate to dry com
pletely. Makes 3 dozen.

VA cup brown sugar

4 cups flour
1 cup rolled oats
2 teaspoons baking powder
'A teaspoon salt

'A cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
Blueberry pie filling
Mix ingredients in order given.
Roll out and cut with round cut
ter. Put 1 teaspoon blueberry pie
filling on a cookie, top with an
other cookie. Press edges togeth
er. Bake at 350 degrees for 10
minutes. Ice with your favorite
frosting and decorate with col
ored sugar. Very good and soft.

CREAM CHEESE COOKIES
1 cup packed light brown
sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
31/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8-ounce package cream cheese
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Cream together white and
brown sugars, butter, eggs, bak
ing soda, salt, and vanilla. Spoon
in flour and mix well.
Drop by teaspoon onto cookie
sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes. Let
cookies cool, then place filling on
one cookie and put together like
a sandwich.
To make filling; Mix together
cream cheese, confectioners'
sugar. Spread on cooled cookies.
Makes 4 dozen.
