- farm (wheeled) equipment maintenance,
light fabrication, and managing our farm shop
- dairy facilities/equipment repair and maintenance
- irrigation of waste water on crop land

The Bureau of Farm Show is currently recruiting for tempo
rary Laborer, Equipment Operator and Security Officer posi
tions There are 150 Laborer, 10 Equipment Operator, and
120 Security Officer positions available Laborer and
Equipment Operator positions are primarily from December
2003 thru January 2004 The Security Officer positions are
standby
Laborer: Work includes helping with the set-up and disman
tling of animal stalls or pens, sweep, wash and polish floors
throughout the Complex, wash windows of all sizes, set-up
and dismantle any of the varying sizes of staging, empty trash
cans and clean restrooms, hose down different areas of the
Complex as directed, help with cleanup of manure after the
livestock events, cleanup outside areas of the Complex as
directed Other duties performed as required
Equipment Operator: Work includes the operation of vari
ous equipment to erect and dismantle various exhibits before,
during and after the Annual Farm Show, operate a forklift to
load and unload trucks, opera'e tractor, disc-harrow to level
large arena floor and push manure from barns, operate
power sweeper to sweep floors in all areas of the Complex,
operate a Commonwealth vehicle to transport bus drivers to
and from bus parking locations, and perform manual laborer
tasks as required by supervisor A Commercial Driver's
License (CDL) is required.
Security Officer: Responsible for performing interior, exteri
or, and special activity security duties, necessary for the pro
tection of Commonwealth property, personnel, and those in
attendance at the Farm Show Complex Work includes
patrolling the internal and external areas of the Complex,
securing and opening of doors, windows and gates to comply
with the operational needs of the Complex, exhibitions, and
special events, maintain parking security and open fire lanes,
direct traffic at designated locations on the property, etc
