    Calfy Heifer Housing
Workshop Set For Ag Professionals
YORK (York Co,) Ag professionals such as
veterinarians, nutritionists, and other consultants
wanting to learn more about dairy calf and heifer
housing, health and management are invited to
attend a December ag engineering workshop hosted
by Penn State Cooperative Extension. Veterinarians
that attend the workshop will receive 11 Vi continu
ing credit hours.
Calves and heifers hold the future genetic pro
duction potential of today’s dairy operations. Hous
ing, care and management greatly affect the health,
growth and production ability of these important
animals. The objective of the workshop is to further
educate ag professionals that work directly with
dairy producers on the housing factors that create a
healthy environment for calves and heifers. Health
and management practices will also be covered.
The workshop will be offered at two times and lo
cations:
• Sayre, at the Best Western, Dec. 3-4.
• Chambersburg, at the Hampton Inn, Dec. 17-
18.
The workshop will be a combination of classroom
lecture, round table discussion, and on-farm dem-
onstration and troubleshooting.
This workshop is designed to be interactive;
therefore registration is limited to 25 people at each
site.
For more information, contact Dan McFarland at
(717) 840-7408 or dfm6@psu.edu. Workshop and
