An internship is a requirement for bachelor of technology agribusiness students as well as other majors offered at SUNY Cobleskill. The internship program requires students to have a variety of expe riences within a business affiliated to their majors. In the summer of 2002, the internship was given to Nicole Koerner, an agribusiness/agri-enterprise major. Nicole grew up on a small dairy farm located in Pike, N.Y. “The diverse opportunity of Dairy One is what really interested me” said Nicole. She had the op portunity to work a few weeks in many of the de partments: the milk lab, Quality Assurance, forage lab and forage data, accounting office and she worked in the field with many Dairy One Farm Ser vice Technicians. In the fall 2002, Nicole also as sisted Dairy One in giving phone support to Pennsylvania technicians learning to use the Dairy Comp 305 software. Emily Peck, also an agribusiness/agri-enterprise student, took this internship opportunity during the summer of 2003. Emily grew up on a small dairy farm located in Richville, N.Y. and has the desire to expand her skills and experience in the dairy industry.
