During the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau’s (PFB) Annual Conven tion Tuesday evening at the Her shey Lodge and Convention Cen ter, former Agriculture Secretary Sam Hayes was selected as the 2003 Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award winner. Wolff Opposes USDA Butter Release HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) Pennsylvania Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff criticized the USDA’s recent decision to sell 3 million pounds of butter on the open market, arguing that the sale will depress dairy prices and hurt Pennsylvania dairy farmers. “I am deeply disappointed in the USDA’s decision to sell the butter from Commodity Credit Corporation stocks on the com mercial market,” said Wolff. “Milk prices are just beginning to show improvement.
