ending November 14 will decrease by 18 per
cent. Present week purchases for the week end
ing Nov. 7 were 295,738 cases which was 22
percent above the prior week and 1 percent
above estimates.

In Chicago, prices were higher on the heavy
weights and unchanged on medium. Prices in
New York were higher on all sizes. Trade senti
ment was fully steady to Arm. Demand into all
channels was light to very good. Supplies of the
lighter weight eggs were sufficient to balanced
while the larger sizes were in close balance to
vety tight. Breaking stock demand was light to
good for short to fully adequate offerings. The
National total shell egg inventory was 4% less
than the previous week. Light type fowl were
about sufficient for the moderate demand.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: The
market tone on frozen 8-16 lb. hens and 16-24
lb. toms was steady, instances firm on 10-12 lb.
hens. Inquiry for frozen was limited for fill-in
basis. Fresh demand was in a full range. Offer
ings were mixed and varied from processor to
processor. Parts and meats trading was slow.
Demand was light to moderate. Supplies held
with varied degrees of confidence.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Trad
ing centered on light to moderate sales of tom
drums and mechanically separated turkey bal
ance slow. Demand was slow with interest
noted from Asia, Mexico and Russia. Most buy
ers taking a wait and see attitude. Parts offer
ings uneven.

KET: Majortiy prices were unchanged on
both heavy and light cannets when compared to
a week earlier. Demand was moderate but most
traders were unaggressive Trading was very
light, however available offerings were clearing
satisfactorily. Processing schedules were about
normal. The undertone was steady.

Trade sentiment was mixed, mostly steady to
fully steady. Demand into all channels was light
to moderate, good for fast food promotions and
other holiday meat items. Supplies were usually
sufficient to well cleared with some plants re
ducing schedules to comply with limited season
al interest. In the parts structure, trading was
light and selective. Wings had strongest move
ment with supplies close to short, and dark
meat was adequate to well cleared and moving.
Breast items were irregular, but at least avail
able and often discounted. In production areas,
live supplies were moderate at weights in a full
range.
The 12-City Weighted Average Price for
11/10/03 was 63.54, compared to 63.77 last
week, and 53.01 a year ago.
