to keep yellow Jackets
away from a hummingbird

answering by sharing her
novel method. She writes
that she fills a humming
bird feeder with sugar
water and hangs it up.
Then she cuts the bottom
3-inches from a plastic Jar
and fills it with two inches
of a sweeter sugar water
and sets the dish near the
hummingbird feeder. The
yellow Jackets will go the
sweeter water and fall into
it and drown.
Ken Jones, Bernville,
recommends taking a q-tip
and putting any type of
vegetable oil around the
opening on the feeder. The
vegetable oil will keep bees
away from the sugar water.
