Prices in Chicago and New York were higher
on the larger sizes and continued unchanged on
mediums. The market tone was mostly steady
on the lighter weights and fully steady to firm
on the larger sizes. Demand was light to good,
best where featured. Supplies of medium were
mixed and ranged adequate to ample. However,
the heavy weighted eggs were closely balanced
to short and held with confidence. Breaking
stock supplies were tight to adequate for the
light to good demand. Light type fowl were
about sufficient for current needs.

Trade sentiment was about steady in the
East, steady in the Midwest, and barely steady
in the West. Retail demand was light to fair, in
stances moderate for features, but best for hob
day items. Food service covered the full range
with fast food promotions receiving best inter
est Supplies of all sizes were at least sufficient
for trade needs. In the parts structure, move
ment was fair at best with limited trading.
Breast items were in the longest position and
frequently discounted to help move. Wings were
balanced to tight and continued to move well,
and dark meat was irregular, but overall avail
able. In production areas, live supplies were
moderate. Weights were in a full range, but
mostly desirable to heavy.
