Enthusiasm Is Strong
Junior Members Post Banner Year

The Lebanon County Junior Hol
stein Club is thriving that was
clear to anyone attending the
county’s recent annual Holstein
banquet.
Youth were honored for their
achievements this year, including
notable successes in dairy quiz
bowl contests at the state and na
tlOnql levels.

senior teams competed in at the
state Holstein convention in
last February. The
junior team of Elizabeth Smith,

first in the state and went on to
place second in June at the na
tional dairy bowl contest in

year’s youth scholarship for his
ongoing commitment to Hol
steins and the dairy business.
Hoover is a second-year stu
dent at SUNY-Morrisville, New
York, majoring in dairy science.
He is the son of Reid and Diane
Hoover, dairy producers from
Lebanon.
Duane Nolt, junior club leader,
was also honored for his work
with the youth members.

• 2-year-old milk: Kelly Reist
with Ken-Joda Shark Date at
25,987 pounds of milk.
• 2-year-old fat: Kole Reist,
with Ken-Joda James Muffet, at
