VIEW for Tuesday, Oct. 28 Slaughter cattle
trade activity was slow on light demand. Sales
reported were not enough to establish an ade
quate market trend. Live sales last week ranged
from 95.00 to 98 00 m the Southern Plains
mostly 100.00 to as much as 103.00 in the Corn
belt, Nebraska and Colorado. Dressed sales in
Nebraska were 158.00 to 162.00 mostly 160.00
and in Kansas 158.00 to 160.00.

evenly steady for cattle under 700 lbs. Cattle
over 700 lbs were firm to 4.00 higher. Demand
and trading activity were moderate The de
mand for yearling cattle remained strong Con
firmed sales about 21% beef type steers, 60%
heifers and 19% Holstein steers. Approximately
85% of the cattle marketed this week weighed
over 600 lbs Confirmed sales 1150 this week,
1200 last week and 1350 last year.
