Demand was moderate to good. The New York
shell egg inventory was 5% less than a week
ago Supplies were adequate for larger sizes, al
though mediums were reported as close bal
anced to tight for current needs.

Mostly prices were unchanged to higher on
whites and whole, but unchanged to lower on
yolks when compared to the previous week's
trading. Trade sentiment was cautious and un
settled on yolks, steady to fully steady on bal
ance. Demand was light to active with offerings
in close balance to available. Overall, floor
stocks of whole and whites were reported as
tight, and yolks somewhat more available Liq
uid and frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the Eastern
region for the week ending 04 October 2003
were 1% less than the previous week, and un
changed when compared to a year ago
