Prices in Chicago were 3 cents higher on me
diums and unchanged on the remainder. In
New York, prices were higher on all sizes. The
market tone was fully steady to firm. Demand
into all channels was light to good. Supplies
were adequate to closely balanced for the larger
sizes while the lighter weights were tight to
short. Breaking stock demand ranged fair to
moderate for adequate to fully sufficient offer
ings. Light type fowl were
at least sufficient to fully
adequate for the moderate
demand.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGHLIGHTS; The
market tone on 8-16 lb hens and 16-24 lb toms
was fully steady. Trading light for prompt ship
ment. Demand light to moderate on both fresh
and bozen whole turkey for the upcoming holi
day. Supplies ranged from tight to adequate
and held with confidence. Bulk parts and meats
trading was light to start the week. Demand
limited as most keep inventories close.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Trad
ing centered on tom drums, balance light. De
mand mixed. The market tone was steady to in
stances firm. Inquiry was noted bom Asia,
Mexico and Russia. Offerings were light.

Majority prices were unchanged when com
pared to a week earlier. Trade sentiment was
steady to barely steady in the Midwest, about
steady in the West, steady elsewhere. Retail and
food service demand ranged light to moderate
at best with the West being affected by ongoing
strike problems Supplies of all sizes were more
than sufficient to satisfy current trade needs. In
the parts structure, breast items were at least
adequate to readily available and at times dis
counted to help clear. Dark meat items were
adequate to available, and wings were close to
tight and moving at premium levels. In produc
tion areas, live supplies were moderate at
weights in a full range, but mostly desirable

cook whole broiler/fryers was fair to moderate.
Offerings of all sizes were generally sufficient
