Prices were unchanged in Chicago In New
York, prices advanced 1 cent on mediums and
unchanged on the remainder. The market tone
was steady with some caution noted. Demand
ranged light to fairly good. Supplies were ade
quate to hilly adequate for the heavy weighted
eggs while the lighter weight eggs were balanced
to sufficient for current trade needs. Breaking
stock offerings were tight to adequate for the
fair to good demand. Light type fowl were more
than sufficient for regular slaughter schedules.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: The
market tone on 8-16 lb hens and 16-24 lb toms
was steady to fully steady. Inquiry light to mod
erate for fill-in basis and also for deferred ship
ments for the Thanksgiving period. Light sales
were reported of packer label hens and toms.
Bulk parts and meats trading was slow some
unsettled ness noted on non-Russian product
Demand was mixed. Offerings limited and held
in firm hands.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Trad
ing was uneven, and centered on tom drums
and thigh meat going to Asia, Mexico and Rus
sia. Demand moderate. Supplies were light.

whole broiler/fryers was noted as light to no bet
ter than fair. Offerings of the three pound birds
were available and the larger sizes were ade

East; steady to barely steady elsewhere. Retail
and food service demand was light to moderate
best where limited feature activity and fast food
promotions were in progress. Supplies were suf
ficient to available with 3 pound sizes in the
East in the longest position. In the parts struc
ture, wings and tenders were adequate and
clearing satisfactorily. Dark meat items were
adequate and breast items were available. In
production areas, live supplies were moderate at
mixed, but mostly desirable weights.
