Firestine noted that it has been
a “roller-coaster” year. He said
that on May 13, he lost his house
to a fire. “I am blessed with good
friends and neighbors,” said Fire
stine. They helped clean up and
rebuild quickly.
Another large accomplish
ment, Firestine noted, was his ap
pointment as chairman of the
American Bankers Association
Agricultural and Rural Affairs
Committee in Washington, D.C.
He is vice chairman now, and
will take over the chair next year.
