The open and youth dairy shows were recently conducted during the Plainfield Farmers’ Fair near Bangor. Alan Hostetter, Lebanon County, judged the open show. Hostetter, in partnership with his father, operates Dale Pride Hol steins near Annville, milking 100 registered Holsteins while jug gling a busy showing and judging schedule. In the open Jersey show, Host etter named an intermediate yearling, exhibited by Stacy Brewer as his junior champion. Hostetter described the heifer, Brew-Line Cosmo Princess, as being a stylish individual. Brewer, 10-year-old daughter of Kevin and Lori Brewer, Bang or, is in fifth grade at DeFranco Elementary School. Dakoda Finken of Pen Argyl exhibited the reserve junior champion. Finken, 11, is the son of Melis sa Finken and in the seventh grade at Wind Gap Middle School. Hostetter selected the ' senior 3-year-old entry of Stacy Brewer as grand champion. He described KL Topkick Precious as a good, sound cow with overall substance throughout. For reserve grand champion Hostetter tapped Brittany Brew er’s junior 3-year-old. Brittany, the 7-year-old daugh ter of Jeff and Tammy Brewer of Brewer Farms near Bangor will be attending the second grade at Washington Elementary School. In the open Holstein show, Hostetter reviewed more than 50 entries, selecting the winner of the senior yearling class as his junior champion. Keystone Hershel Pansy exhib ited by Margaret Seipt captured the junior reserve champion title. Margaret, 10, is the daughter of Doug and Bonnie Seipt of Keystone Farms. Senior and grand champion honors went to Keystone Farms’ Keystone Shark Dawn, a 4- cow. Hostetter de scribed the tall, framey cow as having real quality, and in full bloom with a lot of youthfulness. Following in the reserve senior and reserve grand champion spot was Keystone Farm Marissa, a 5- cow, also exhibited by Keystone Farms. Meranda Sellers judged the youth dairy and round-up, show the next day. Sellers, a graduate of Penn State with a major in dairy and animal science, owns Glen Rock Holsteins near Leba non where, along with her hus band and two daughters, she milks 60 registered Holsteins. As champion fitter and show man Sellers selected Stephanie Brewer, 12, daughter of Kevin and Lori Brewer, Bangor. Step hanie, 13, in seventh grade at Bangor Middle School. As junior champion of the Jer sey show. Sellers selected the jun ior calf of Krissa Brewer, Bry ncoed Hadyn Humphrey. The senior and grand champi on of the Jersey show was award ed to Stacy Brewer’s Dec. KL Topkick Precious. This cow cap tured the same titles the previous day for Brewer in the open Jersey show. Following in the reserve senior and reserve champion spot was Krissa Brewer’s Brew-Line Berretta Dairy. In the youth Holstein show, Sellers selected the intermediate yearling class winner of Jeremy Smith as junior champion. Sellers described Kirbyville J Mizer Pammy as being a straight-track ing beautiful heifer with style and a nice front end. Smith, IS, son of Regina and Dean Smith is attending tenth grade at Northampton High School. The reserve junior rosette went to Timothy Seipt with Keystone Forbid Pine. Seipt, 12-year-old son of Doug and Bonnie Seipt of Keystone Farms near Easton has completed the sixth grade at Le high Valley Seventh Day Advent ist School and will be home schooled for seventh grade start ing this fall. Seipt then saw his winner of the junior three-year-old class move into the senior and grand champion spot of the youth Hol stein show.
