Compared to Thursday, Lean slaughter cows
sold steady to mostly LOO lower. Fleshier (65-85
percent lean) cows sold mostly 2.00-3.00 lower.
The quality of the run was comprised of mainly
average to plain quality Lean and Boning
(75-80 percent lean) cows. Slaughter bulls sold
mostly 4.00-6.00 lower. The cattle supply in
cluded 198 head of slaughter cows, 47 slaughter
bulls, 50 slaughter steers, 29 slaughter heifers,
with 75 head of feeder cattle.

Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last Monday,
slaughter lambs sold mixed. High demand con
tinues to be seen for light weight lambs; with
lambs under SO lbs trading as much as 5.00
higher. Middle weight lambs between 50-100 lbs
sold steady to weak, while heavy lambs sold
10.00. Buyer attendance and bidding activity
was moderate through the course of the sale.
Slaughter sheep sold mostly steady on a moder
ate supply.

Slaughter Goats: Compared to last Monday,
Kid goats sold steady to firm. Yearlings were
not well tested; however a firmer undertone was
noted. Nannies and Billies sold steady to firm.
A good supply of Wethers sold steady to mostly
10.00 higher. Good buyer attendance early in
the sale, however numbers declined towards the
close with prices sliding as much a 5.00 due to
lighter buyer interest All goats are sold by the
head, with estimated weights. Kids: Selection 1

Bidding activity picked up on Tuesday as
weigh-ups improved. Prices remain very good
for the fancier-types, as high Choice and Prime
cattle are still in the 93.00-95.00 range. A very
fancy load of high Choice and Prime Holstein
steers sold with a definite higher undertone on
Monday, with Holstein receipts extremely light
on Tuesday. The slaughter heifer run was not
well tested. Slaughter cows sold mostly
1.00- lower, with Boning cows as much as
3.00 lower. Slaughter bulls sold 3.00-4.00 lower
on a mixed run. The two-day run included an
estimated 202 head of slaughter steers, 27
slaughter heifers, 314 slaughter cows, 19 slaugh
ter bulls, and IS head of feeder cattle.

special fed veal bams sold sharply higher on all
classes, with Graded Number One's and Two's
topping out at 167.00. Graded Holstein Heifer
calves sold sharply higher on heavier weights
(over 105 lbs), while the majority sold steady to
firm.
Buyer attendance was good with active bid
ding through the duration of the sale. The
Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture grad
ed 766 head of heifers and bulls for the sale,
with an estimated 83 percent of the graded run
going back to feed.

Compared to last Thursday, high Choice and
Prime slaughter steers sold steady, instances
weaker. Choice slaughter steers sold mostly
steady. Bidding was more active on the average
quality stock, as high Select and low Choice
steers sold from .50-1.50 higher. Heavier mus
cled Select steers were also in high demand, and
were also in good supply, with sales up to 2.00
higher. The run was light, which is becoming

sale ring. The supply was mixed m
