Weekly Cattle Summary Compared to last
week. Feeder cattle and calves steady to 3.00
lower. Demand only moderate early but
sparked later as the CME cattle boards made
strong advances on the close. Quality of year
ling cattle plain to average Feeders m medium
to moderate flesh conditions. Good general
rains fell over much of the state Monday and
Tuesday giving some beneficial moisture to
early planted wheat.
Receipts this week 10,775; last week 10,512;
last year 8,904. Supply consisted of 49% year
lings and calves over 600 lbs; 47% calves, 4%
cows and bulls Heifers comprised 40% of feeder
& calf supply.

Compared to last week, feeder cattle steady but
not enough sales made m some areas for a good
market test. Grain harvest is becoming more of
a widespread activity this week plus producers
are hesitant to replace fed cattle that were sold
with feeders that have advanced in price for
three previous weeks. Demand for feeders good
except current prices slowing activity. Confirm
ed sales about 50 % beef type steers, 30 % heif
ers and 20 % lightweight Holsteins Confirmed
sales 1600 this week, 2150 last week and 2300
last year
