The Manure Hauler Certification Course is being offered at two locations
1 Gary Truckenmiller Farm, Watsontown, PA. Wednesday, October 1
2 Howard Proctor Farm, Shippensburg, PA Thursday, October 2.
Those who handle manure both commercially and privately are encouraged to par
ticipate in this voluntary program Certified Nutrient Management Plan Writers can
receive continuing education ciedits
Featured topics include:
• Update on Nutrient Management Act proposed revisions
• Update on Commercial Hauler and Broker Certification Act
• How to determine if your equipment meets road weight requirements
• Soil compaction exercise
• Manure transport and application safety
• Manure storage management
• Phosphorus Index exercise
• Manure spreader calibration exercise
• Record keeping
• Some equipment displayed and demonstrated
