NATIONAL YOUNG TURKEY PARTS
AND BULK MEAT, Frozen, unless specified,
cents per lb, delivered first receivers, part and
full trucklots, as of Sept 23. The trade senti
ment on fresh tom breast meat was mixed.
Some processors were firm on fresh tom breast
meat for prompt shipments with a few buyers
paying premiums to satisfy immediate needs,
yet, others note spot discounting for future de
liveries. Demand slow to instances moderate,
best for immediate needs. Offerings ranged
from instances tight for prompt shipments to
sometimes hilly adequate for deferred. The
trade sentiment on white trim meats and me
chanically separated turkey was fully steady to
firm. Demand fair to good for the limited offer
ings. The trade sentiment on thigh meat, tom
drums and wings was steady to firm with con
tinued buyer price resistence noted as offering
prices continued to climb. Tom neck trade sen
timent steady. Inquiry fair to good. Offerings of
tom necks adequate, balance of tom bulk part
and thigh meat limited and held with confi
dence. Fresh wing meat traded at 58 cents de
livered domestic.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: The
trade sentiment whole body hens and toms was
steady to fully steady. Inquliy was light to mod
erate with increased interest noted for the up
coming Thanksgiving holiday. No sales report
ed. Bulk parts and meats trading was slow to
start the week. Buyers remain cautious and se
lective toward the market with many trying to
resist higher prices. Offerings were tight and
held with confidence.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS: Trad
ing was slow, sales centered on frozen tom
drums. Demand fairly good. Most interest noted
from Russia, Mexico and Asia.

Trucklot buying activity was light to no bet
ter than fair as dealers noted little confidence in
the market. Offering of breast items were avail
able, with bone-in breasts in the longest posi
tion. Dark meat cuts were at least sufficient.
Wings were tenderloins were adequate to bal
anced. Retail and distributive movement was
lackluster. Trade sentiment was unsettled. The
market tone was steady on wings and tender
loins, mostly steady on dark meat cuts and
barely steady to instances weak on breast items

usual lighter end-of-the month consumer buy
ing interest coupled with the upcoming Jewish
Holiday leave seller offerings in a fully adequate
to readily available position. Live supplies were
at least moderate, weights contmued to vary in
a full range of light to heavy. Processor sched
ules were moderate to moderately heavy. Less
than trucklot asking prices were unchanged at
61 to 71 cents Trade sentiment was about
