Fleshier (65-85 percent lean) cows sold fully 1.00 lower, to mostly 2.00 lower. Buyer demand and attend- ance were both light at the early week run. The quality of the run was comprised of mainly av erage to plain quality Lean cows. Slaughter bulls sold mostly 1.00-4.00 lower The cattle supply included 198 head of slaugh ter cows, 48 slaughter bulls, S 3 slaughter steers, 21 slaughter heifers, with 101 head of feeder cattle. The Tuesday run was made up of 85 head of steers, therefore the light market was not well tested. However, there was definitely a lower undertone noted. The better-fed steers are still able to bring in the 90‘s, but the bottom end of the Choice cattle seem to be slipping back into the upper 80‘s; although the market is still miles ahead of where it was this time a year ago. Holstein steers sold with a lower undertone as well, with slaughter heifers trading steady to .50 higher.
