Compared to last Thursday, the bulk of the
slaughter steer run sold mostly steady. The
quality of the run wa« a little lower than last
week, with a lot of the cattle carrying some fill.
Therefore, prices may be steady to firm in the
meat. Also, when the ring man's starting
at 90 bucks, ahd they sell for 95.00 or-OAOO,
producers aren't concerned with fill,or quality;
and with a run of 700 head, buyers had enough
to pick through to fill thfir specific needs. Hur
ricane Isabel slammed into the East coast, more
specifically North Carolina, on Thursday. So
far the natural disaster doesn't seem to have
dealt a direct hit to the Eastern meat markets.
