The sixth annual All- Dairy Antiques and Collectibles Show, exclusive to the All-Ameri can Dairy Show, will be con ducted Saturday, Sept. 20 through Thursday, Sept. 25 in the Dairy Activities Center of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Com plex in Harrisburg. This year’s feature will be Holstein breed items. Seventy-two exhibitors from 12 states exhibited unique and very rare antiques and collectibles, such as milk bottles, and many other items at last year’s show. This year, the All-American Dairy Show is hosting an unpar alleled schedule of events, shows, and exhibits to celebrate its 40th Anniversary. Collectors and ad mirers of dairy memorabilia are invited to attend this show, which is restricted to dairy-related items, and which is the only one of its kind in the U.S. Enthusiasts will find this show a great place to see and buy, as well as learn, since much effort is devoted to making the displays educational. The show offers the opportunity to see very rare dairy tools used in the late 1800 s and the early 1900 s, while observing some of the nation’s modem tools and finest dairy cattle in the barns and in the show ring. One unique feature, via special permission and courtesy of the Penn State University Depart ment of Dairy and Animal Sci ences, will be the one quarter-life size models of the True-Type Holstein Cow and Bull. These models were developed and dis tributed by the Holstein-Friesian Association as educational tools to help improve breed type in 1922. This showing of the models is only the second time Penn State has allowed them to leave the campus. Previously, they were on display when the 1995 National Holstein Convention was hosted by Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh.
