Movement of ready-to-cook whole birds
was fair to good and sufficient in keeping
seller offerings generally well cleared to
short of immediate needs. Live supplies
were moderate; weights were mostly de
sirable. Processor schedules were moder
ate to moderately heavy. Less than truck
lot asking prices were unchanged at 57 to
67 cents. Trade sentiment was fully
steady to firm. In the parts complex,
boneless/skinless breasts were hilly ade
quate at some points, well cleared at oth
ers. Bone-in breasts were adequate. Ten
ders, boneless skinless thighs, and wings
were barely adequate to short. Leg cuts
were in generally good balance.

ed. In the parts structure, wings were
barely adequate to short, tight for larger
cuts, and moving well. Dark meat was
close balanced to adequate with thigh
meat often short, and breast items were
irregularly available, but barely adequate
for tenders. In production areas, live sup
plies were moderate at mostly desirable
weights.
The 12-CITY Weighted Average Price
for 09/02/03 was 64.18, compared to 63.31
last week, and 56.19 a year ago.
