Trucklot buying activity remained light
and unaggressive during midweek trad
ing. Offerings of boneless-skinless breasts
were at least adequate and bone-in breasts
were more than sufficient. Dark meat
cuts were generally adequate. Wings and
tenderloins were clearing movement
through retail and distributive channels
was lackluster. The market tone was fully
steady on tenderloins, and about steady
on the balance.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGH
LIGHTS: Trade sentiment was steady to
fully steady on frozen hens and consumer
sized toms. Inquiry light to fair with some
slowing noted due to the up-coming holi
day weekend. Offerings light to adequate
with some higher trending asking prices
noted for September shipments. The mar
ket continued strong on fresh tom breast
meat and fresh destrapped tenderloins,
however, some isolated caution was
noted.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS:
Trading light. The market continued
strong on thigh meat, most parts items,
and mechanically sperated turkey for
Russia. Demand fair to good for the tight
to instances adequate offerings.

Prices were unchanged in Chicago. In
New York, prices were lower on all sizes.
The market tone was steady to barely
steady. Demand was light to instances
good. Supplies were balanced to fully suf
ficient for present trade needs. Breaking
stock offerings were adequate to tight for
the moderate to good demand. The Na
tional total shell egg inventory was 4%
more than the previous week. Light type
fowl were at least sufficient to fully ade
quate for regular slaughter schedules.

unaggressive entering the week. Offerings
varied; the pound and lighter birds were
adequate to balanced at times and the 3.5
pound and heavier weights were avail
able. Retail and distributive movement
was no better than fair. The market tone
was steady on the 2.5 to 3
pound birds and barely steady
on the balance.
