Trade sentiment was fully steady in the
West, steady at best in the East depend
ing on size, and steady elsewhere. Retail
demand was light to moderate, food serv
ice was fair to good, best for fast food.
Supplies were usually sufficient for trade
needs; however, in the Northeast, heavier
sized product was more available and
often discounted. In the parts structure,
wings were adequate to tight and contin
ued to move well, and dark meat was
mostly sufficient. Breast items were irreg
ularly available, with some areas showing
an increase, but others were closer bal
anced. In production areas, live supplies
were moderate. Weights were desirable to
heavy, but mostly desirable.

sizes were trending higher. The market
tone was fully steady to firm. Demand
ranged light to good. Supplies were ade
quate to close for full trade needs. Break
ing stock offerings were usually sufficient
and demand was moderate to good. Light
type fowl were fully adequate for the light
to better than fair demand.

trading. Offerings of breast items had in
creased in availability at some locations.
Dark meat cuts were sufficient. Wings
continued to clear well. Movement

on the balance.

pared to the previous week’s trading.
Trade sentiment was reported as at least
fully steady at prevailing levels. Demand
and trading was fair to moderate, with of
ferings somewhat limited. Overall, sup
plies were usually about adequate for
trade needs. Liquid and frozen eggs (in
gredients included) processed under fed
eral inspection in the Eastern region for
the week ending 02 August 2003 were 1 %
higher than the previous week, and un
changed when compared to a year earlier.

barely steady at best on tom necks. Inqui
ry was fair to good on tom drums and
full-cut wings, slow to instances fair on

light and generally held with confidence
on drums and wings, necks were adequate
to ample. Trade sentiment on rib breasts
was steady to instances fully steady with
increased strength being noted on plant
grade 4-8 lb. breasts for deferred ship
ments. Demand fair to good, best on 4-8
lb. breasts for deterred deliveries. Offer
ings light to adequate. Domestic trading
centered on a moderate volume of plant
grade 4-8 lb breasts 82 cents delivered
September-October and on a small vol

however, interest continued active for
