Judge Impressed At Kutztown Goat Show

KUTZTOWN (Berks Co.)
Harold Harpster, Centre County,
couldn’t have been more pleased
at the Kutztown goat show.
“This was an impressive show
for its size,” Harpster said.
With five exhibitors and 12
goats, the show wasn’t the largest
at the fair, but Harpster is con
vinced the young ladies did such
a good job presenting their ani
mals, it will help them in the fu
ture.
Shelby Rarick, 11, exhibited
Nibbles, who won champion mar
ket goat. Shelby raises steer, rab
bits, goats and sheep on her fami
ly’s beef farm in Fleetwood.
Carrie Hartman of Bernville is
a member of Berks County 4-H
Goat Club. She exhibited the re
serve champion market goat. She
also shows sheep.
Tatum Fisher, 14, lives on a
12-acre farm in Bernville. She
raises horses and goats. Her goat
Midnight won best of show dairy
goat at the fair.
Harpster said the participants
in the fitting and showing were
very close and the winner came
down to trivial things.

“This was a really good goat
show,” Harpster said.
