Samantha Rabenold took 10 pigs to the Kutztown Fair and left with a grand champion market hog and a supreme champion breeding guilt. The 13-year-old Kutztown na tive lives on a dairy and swine farm and is in her fifth year showing hogs. She said she didn’t do anything special to the pigs, just spent about IS minutes a day with them. Her Hampshire won supreme champion breeding guilt. She also won champion Yorkshire and reserve grand champion pair of market swine. Samantha will be an eighth-grader at Kutztown Middle School in the fall. Stacey Manbeck, 13, of Wo melsdorf, enjoys being at the fair with her friends, but it didn’t hurt that her crossbred heavy weight hog Corosa won reserve grand champion market hog. She also won grand champion pair of market swine. “I thought they’d do pretty well,” she said. Stacey feeds her five pigs in the morning and at night and spends the afternoon playing with them. She is in her fifth year showing pigs. Blain Brown spent the day judging the swine. He grew up on a hog farm in Lebanon County.
