Exhibitors Show 8 Dairy Breeds At Reading Fair DAVE LEFEVER Lancaster Farming Staff LEESPORT (Berks Co.) Doug Sattazahn is wrapping up his 4-H dairy show career this season in grand fashion, exhibi ting two champion cows at the Reading Dairy Show this week. Sattazahn, 18, led both his jun ior 2-year-old Holstein and his 4-year-old Red and White cow to overall grand championships at the new site of Reading Fair here Wednesday. Two years ago, Sattazahn trav eled to the Buckeye Classic Sale In Ohio to purchase the winning Holstein, Schugs Leader Melanie. She was a calf at the time. “She has a good frame, dairy ness, and a good, level udder,” Sattazahn said of his champion. Sattazahn is a member of the Western Berks 4-H Dairy Club, Holstein champion exhibitors at the Reading Fair Dairy Show are Doug Sattazahn, left, grand, and Randall Zim merman, reserve. Doug is enrolled at Penn State this fall, where he plans to major in dairy and animal science. Elmoak Mayo Nickey-Red is the name of Sattazahn’s champi on Red and White cow. Randall Zimmerman of Bem ville exhibited the reserve cham pion Holstein, a 5-year-old cow named Ju-Vindale Highlife Cas sie. Zimmerman is also a member of the Western Berks 4-H Dairy Club.
