sizes were trending sharply hihger. The
market tone was very firm. Demand was
moderate to good. Supplies were about
adequate to tight for trade requirements.
Breaking stock offerings were short to oc
casionallv sufficient tor the moderate to
good demand. Light type hens were fully
adequate for processing needs.

Summary Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
and Ohio: Compared to last week, feeder
cattle were mostly 1.00-4.50 higher. De
mand and trading activity were moderate.
The stronger slaughter cattle market, the
continued ban on Canadian cattle and
tight feeder cattle supplies supported
prices. Reported sales consisted of about
58% beef steers, 38% heifers and 4% Hol
stein steers. Approximately 86% of the
cattle marketed this week weighed over
600 lbs. Confirmed sales 1300 this week,
1000 last week and 900 last year.
FEEDER STEERS: Medium and
Large 1-2: load lot 565 lbs 98.00; 700-900
lbs 86.00-88.50; load lot 985 lbs 77.50.
HOLSTEIN STEERS: Medium and
Large 3: load lot 650 lbs 78.50.
