    “Our main focus is raising children,” says Roman Stoltzfoos of this
grass-based, certified organic dairy farm operation. “Grazing is the
next enterprise.”
Roman and his wife Lucy have 11 children. They are Dwight, 23;
Hilda, 21; Delmar, 17; Charlene, 15; Clifford, 13; Joshua, 11; Caleb, 9;
Althea, 7; Raphael, 5; Hadassah, 2; and Heather, 5 months.

Of the farm’s 200 acres, 160 acres are in pasture to feed the 140-
cow herd, milked on a modified seasonal basis. The milk has been cer
tified organic since 1995.
The Stoltzfooses also raise 8,000 organic turkeys a year and manage
300 pastured laying hens.
