Elizabeth “Beth” Zimmerman was crowned the 2003-2004 Juni- The Dairy Princess Pageant was conducted on Sunday, June 8, at the Walker Grange Hall, Mexico. Beth is the 16-year-old daugh ter of Marvin and Karen Zim merman of Oakland Mills. She is in the eleventh grade and is home schooled. She likes to cook and works part-time at the Lost Creek Golf Course Cafe. She en joys spending time with her friends and her youth group at church. During the pageant, Beth pres ented a speech entitled “The Most Wholesome Drink,” geared for seniors. By consuming 3-a-day servings of dairy prod ucts, you will be less likely to suf fer from the growing disease of osteoporosis. Her skit entitled “Beth The Explorer” lead pre school children on a journey from the farm to the processing plant to the grocery store. Rachel is the 16-year-old daugh ter of Joe and Barb Shearer of Spruce Hill. She is a senior at Ju niata High School. She is involv ed in 4-H, Girl Scouts and band, and she enjoys listening to music in her spare time. Rachel’s speech was geared to adult audiences and listed the various kinds of milk available. Her skit was entitled “My Picnic Dilemma” and featured the dif ferent choices she had to make for a wholesome picnic which of course includes dairy products. Master of Ceremonies, Judy Geissinger Mummau, the 1997-1998 Juniata County Dairy Princess, presided over the intro ductions of the remainder of the Dairy Court.
