KET; Majority prices were unchanged
on both light and heavy canneis when
compared to a week earlier. Demand was
moderate for usually limited but sufficient
offerings. However, some buyers were
looking for additional supplies of heavy
canners. The undertone was somewhat
seasonal but usually steady.

HENS: Line run without necks: 20-24.5,
majority 23-24. HEAVY CANNER
HENS: Without necks; 29-36, majority

The market tone was steady to fully
steady. Demand into all channels was
moderate to good. Supplies were suffi
cient to at times closely balanced for pres
ent requirements. Breaking stock offer
ings were tight to adequate for the
moderate to very good demand. The Na
tional total shell egg inventory was 1%
higher than the previous week. Light type
fowl were fully adequate for the light to
fair demand.

Trade sentiment was steady to fully
steady in the East, generally steady else
where. Retail demand was light to moder
ate, best for features and where holiday
and first of the month needs were being
met. Food service was light to fairly good,
best for fast food, delis, and catering serv
ices. Supplies were overall sufficient, but,
in the East, heavy birds were close to
tight, and smaller sizes were in the best
balance in the West. In the parts struc
ture, trading increased to fill orders for
July 4th. Wings were fully adequate to
plentiful and slow to move. Availability
for the remaining items was mixed, but
had decreased and
moved into a better
balance to tight po
sition. In production
areas, live supplies
were moderate.

ly desirable.
