Weekly Meat Production Under Federal Inspection
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 27- (USDA-NASS) - Total red meat pro
duction under federal inspection for the week ending Saturday, June 28,
was estimated at 915.1 million lbs, according to the USDA's Agricultural
Marketing Service. This was 0.2 percent higher than a week ago and 2.0
percent lower than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year
to date was 0.3 percent lower compared to the previous year.

mand very good for all classes and grades.
Buyers aggressive for numbers with all
grades participating in the advance. Pre
cipitation has been well timed thus far
this season and grass pastures are doing
well despite the 5 inch deficit in year-to
date rainfall.
Receipts this week 8000; last week
11,119; last year 9037. Supply consisted of
76% yearlings and calves over 600 lbs;
17% calves; 7% cows and bulls. Heifers
comprised 45% of feeder & calf supply.
