the National Auctioneers Foundation to develop,
preserve, and research the history of the auction
profession.

known as the Hall of History, officially opened in

tional Auctioneers Association headquarters in
Overland Park, Kansas, has museum material span
ning from the early 1800’s to the present.
The National Auctioneers Museum has a broad
spectrum of auctioneering artifacts from gavels and
other tools of the trade, to advertising items, to
beautiful bronze sculptures. Colorful dioramas in
the museum help to interpret the history of Auc
tioneering in the early days of the United States.
The museum has a strong archives with hundreds
of photographs, a vast variety of handbills and other
advertisements, documents, video and audio re
cordings, books, manuscripts, publications, and
complete sets of the “Auctioneer” magazine. An
other important segment of the archives is the Na
tional Auctioneers Association Auxiliary
scrapbooks from 1951 to the present.
