Forehanded Farmers
In 1927, The Old Farmer's Almanac observed. “The
successful fanner is always forehanded He pushes his
work instead of allowing his work to push him. He
plans his necessary work well ahead and gets much of it
done before the rush season This policy gives
opportunity for more thorough, intelligent, and produc
tive work "
To have a productive gardening year, tend to your
watering and fertilizing now. and continue to plant
seeds of fast-growing plants such as beans, squashes,
marigolds, and nasturtiums Prune azaleas after they’ve
finished blooming, and thin fruits such as apples, pears,
and peaches if too many flowers have set fruit. Tend to
weeding and stake plants early. .
Weeds never die.
