week ending June 6 will increase by 18
percent. Present week purchases for the
week ending May 30 were 219,349 cases
which was 1 percent below the prior week
and 3 percent below estimates.

down 21%; TOTAL: 219,349 down 1%.
Comparison figures are compiled on a
matched plant basis. Purchases and esti
mates by 15 cooperators; 30 dozen cases
or equivalent.

DOMESTIC MARKET HIGH
LIGHTS: The market tone for 8-16 lb
hens and 16-24 lb toms was steady to
barely steady. Fairly heavy sales of packer
labeled hens and toms for June through
August and limited sales for September.
Offerings were mostly adequate. Parts
trading centered on a fair volume of fresh
Grade A 4-8 lb breasts.
EXPORT HIGHLIGHTS: Trading
consisted of a heavy volume of frozen
thigh meat and a light to moderate vol
ume of full-cut wings and tom drums. In
terest noted from Asia, Eastern Europe,
Russia and Mexico. Offerings were ade
quate.

The market tone was steady to at times
fully steady. Demand into all channels
was light to good, best where featured.
Supplies of lighter weights were adequate
while the larger sizes ranged adequate to
tight. In the Central region, breaking
stock offerings were balanced to tight
while supplies in the East were slightly
more available. Breaking schedules were
generally normal for the moderate to
good demand. Light type hens were fully
adequate for the fair to moderate de
mand.

sugar yolks, unchanged to higher on salt
yolk, and unchanged on whites when
compared to previous week's trading.
Trade sentiment was steady on whites,
steady to fully steady on yolks, and fully
steady to firm on whole. Demand was
moderate. Offerings were balanced to
adequate on whites, usually sufficient on
yolks and held with increasing confidence
on w hole Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredi
ents included) processed under federal in
spection in the Eastern region for the
week ending 24 May 2003 were 4% higher
than the pretious week and S'*- higher
than a year ago.

was fair to moderate. Offerings of 3.S and
4.0 pound sizes were well cleared to short
of immediate needs. 2.5 and 3.0 pound
sizes were hilly adequate. Live supplies
were moderate; weights were mostly de
sirable. Processor schedules were moder
ately heavy. Less than trucklot asking
prices were unchanged to 1 cent higher at
58 to 67 cents. Trade sentiment was hilly
steady. Boneless/skinless breast were hilly
adequate. Bone-in breasts were readily
available and completitively priced to
stimulate buyer interest. Leg quarters
continued to clear satisfactorily. Wings
were adequate to ample.

ket being reported with an estimated
slaughter of 1,331,000 compared to
629,000 last Monday. Weights were desir
able to light. Processing schedules were
moderate. Supply of bone-in breast was
heavy while demand was light for the
market being reported.
Negotiated F. 0.8. dock prices, 2
pounds and heavier ice-packed broilers
and fryers, trucklot sales of US Grade A
or equivalent were steady at .54 - .66 per
pound; less than trucklot sales .55 - .69
per pound.

The undertone on hen parts was mostly
steady. Demand light for the adequate in
ventories. Some cautious optimism was
noted on thigh meat with trading noted at
mostly steady price levels. Trading cen
tered on fair volumes of fresh 4-8 lb
breasts for domestic shipments and tom
full-cut wings for export, balance slow.
