Weekly Meat Production Under Federal Inspection
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 30 - (USDA-NASS) - Total red meat pro
duction under federal inspection for the week ending Saturday, May 31,
was estimated at 780.9 million lbs, according to the USDA's Agricultural
Marketing Service. This was 15.3 percent lower than a week ago and 1.2
percent lower than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year
to date was 0.7 percent lower compared to the previous year
