Advanced Technology
Boosts Capacity In New
Massey Ferguson Combines
DULUTH, Ga. New
Massey Ferguson combines have
increased harvest capacity over
previous models thanks to ad
vanced technology and design
enhancements. The class VI MF
9690 and class VII MF 9790
combines feature improved fuel
efficiency, more efficient and
thorough grain threshing,
greater visibility, and an en
hanced cab environment. At the
same time, combine operation
and maintenance have become
simpler, not more complex.
“The MF 9690 and MF 9790
are designed to adjust easily
from one field to another or
from one crop to another,” said
Tom Draper, general marketing
manager, Massey Ferguson Har
vesting Products. “In fact, our
engineers work hard to create
‘advanced simplicity’ in every
combine. That means fewer
chains, fewer belts, fewer gear
boxes, and fewer grease fittings
than any other combine on the
market. It also means superior
harvesting Capability and, with
these machines, expanded har

New Tree Clipper Simplifies
Trimming Trees
LITCHFIELD, 111. The
new Tree Clipper from Work
saver, Inc., solves the problem of
trimming and cutting hard to
reach tree branches or unwanted
trees. It also eliminates the need
to trim limbs with a chain saw
from a loader bucket or ladder.
The Tree Clipper can be
mounted to either side of the
main frame and provides excel
lent visibility.
Designed for use with a trac
tor loader or a skid steer, the

vest capacity.”
Expanded capacity is a result
of design modifications to
Massey Ferguson’s advanced
technology and harvest system.
Improvements involved the
front beater, the rotor, and grain
cleaning system.
Massey’s proven grain
friendly cascade system shakes,
separates and gently drops grain
from one pan to another. Here, a
minor change to the angle of the
cleaning shoe and motion of the
sieves and bottom pans contrib
utes to increased cleaning ca
pacity.
Increased capacity in thresh
ing and cleaning means more
grain in the tank. Storage capac
ity on the new MF 9690 and MF
9790 has increased to 300 bush
els with new larger grain tanks.
“Even a minor change in
design can make the best system
even better,” said Draper. “We
increased the productivity in
these combines not by changing
a proven and successful system,
but simply by enhancing several
components.”
from T-l steel. Cutting head on
the unit rotates 113°. Head rota
tor cylinder is 3”xl0” and the
cutting head cylinder is 5”x8”.
The Tree Clipper is available
in two models, Model TCB-FL
and TCB-SS. Model TCB-FL is
designed for use with a tractor
loader and comes with standard
pin type attachment brackets.
This model requires a tractor
with a minimum of 45 PTO HP.
Front loader quick attach brack
ets are available. Model TCB-SS
is designed for use with skid
steers and uses a “universal” at
tachment system.
