Weekly Meat Production Under Federal Inspection
WASHINGTON, D.C., May 23 - (USDA-NASS) - Total red meat pro
duction under federal inspection for the week ending Saturday, May 24,
was estimated at 921.5 million lbs, according to the USDA's Agricultural
Marketing Service. This was 1.2 percent higher than a week ago and 2.4
percent higher than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year
to date was 0.7 percent lower compared to the previous year.
