DOMESTIC MARKET HIGH
LIGHTS: The market tone for 8-16 lb
hens and 16-24 lb toms was about steady.
Moderate sales reported on packer label
hens and toms for prompt and deferred
shipments, also includes sales that are
transferred in storage at 59 cent hens and
58 cent toms. Supplies were fully ade
quate. Demand remains sporadic in na
ture. Bulk parts and meats trading was
light. Demand slow.
EXPORT HIGHLIGHTS: Export trad
ing was light and centered on frozen tom
drums and full-cut wings. Demand slug
gish with most buyers inactive.

Prices in New York and Chicago were
2 cents higher on the larger sizes and 1
cent higher on medium. The market tone
was fully steady to firm. Demand re
mained in a full range of light to good.
Supplies were sufficient to occasionally
very tight for current requirements.
Breaking stock offerings were unavailable
to tight in the Midwest but were short to
adequate in the East. Demand for addi
tional product was fair to mostly good.
Light type fowl were at least adequate to
fully sufficient for the fair to moderate de
mand.

Prices were unchanged, however ail
sizes were trending higher. The market
tone was fully steady. Demand into all
channels ranged moderate to instances
good, best where features were in pro
gress. Large 18-count eggs were adver
tised at two for 3.00. Supplies were ade
quate to close for immediate trade needs.
Breaking stock offerings were short to
adequate for the fair to good demand.
Light type fowl demand was fair to mod
erate for at least adequate to fully suffi
cient offerings.
