Prices in Chicago were 2 cents lower on
the larger sizes and unchanged on the
lighter weights. In New York, prices de
clined 3 cents on the heavy weights and
decreased 2 cents on mediums. Prices in
all other areas were unchanged, however
all sizes were trending lower. The market
tone was barely steady to weak. Demand
was mixed, ranging slow to very good.
Supplies of the larger sizes were sufficient
to available while the lighter weights were
adequate to closely balanced for trade
needs. Breaking stock offerings were ade
quate to fully adequate for the light to
moderate demand. Light type hens were
more than sufficient for less than normal
schedules.

Trucklot buying activity on ready-to
cook whole broiler/ffyers was light and se
lective as dealers limited orders to com
mitted product and held inventories in
close balance. Offerings of all sizes were
generally sufficient. Retail and distribu
tive draw was seasonally light. The mar
ket tone was steady.

LIGHTS; The market tone was steady on
frozen 8-16 lb hens and 16-24 lb toms. De
mand light. No trading reported as buyers
showing limited interest to purchase. Sup
plies fully adequate. Bulk parts and meats
trading was slow with the best reported
movement was on 4-8 lb breast. Demand
was light to moderate. Buyers continue to
price conscious.
EXPORT MARKET HIGHLIGHTS:
Trading was sluggish. Demand was in a
full range. Supplies were adequate to in
stances burdensome.

KET: Majority prices were generally
unchanged to slightly higher on heavy
canners; mostly unchanged on lights
when compared to a week earlier. De
mand was fair to moderate. Trading was
light. Offerings were in close balance to
tight and well cleared at most locations.
The undertone was at least steady.

large, however meduim sizes remained at
best steady. Demand was in a full range
of light to instances good. The New York
shell egg inventory decreased 29Vr when
compared to a week ago. Supplies were
usually sufficient for immediate trade
needs.
